About complexitysalon

Ethos
ComplexitySalon draws on more than two decades of experience running reflective and reflexive groups tackling complex questions concerning what it means to be human and to live more or less peacefully together. This involves dealing with questions of ethics, acknowledging sometimes strong feelings, and working with the inevitable conflict that arises when people are trying to explore different valuations of the good.

We are most interested in talking about experience, in exploring difference, and developing the ability to talk about what matters.

We charge money for the events we organise to keep us sustainable, but we also work pro bono, or for reduced rates for groups and communities who have less access to resources.

All profits are ploughed back into creating more opportunities for critical, reflexive and reflective work in groups.

Acknowledgement of Country
We meet from many places, each with its own deep histories of belonging and custodianship. In the spirit of reflexive practice, we acknowledge that the lands we occupy carry obligations we are still learning to understand. In Australia, this begins with recognising the Traditional Custodians of unceded Country and paying respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
